Tourism & Travel Management 4 Years Honours Course

Introduction

Tourism & Travel Management 3-years degree programme (vocational) has been introduced by UGC in this college affiliated to University of Calcutta since 1999-2000 sessions. The semester wise B.A/ B.Sc/B.Com (Major) in Tourism & Travel Management under CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) has been changed and effective from 2018-2019 sessions. The semester wise B.A/ B.Sc 4-year (Honors with core Vocational) in Tourism & Travel Management (VTTM) has been introduced since 2023-2024 session.

Objective

The main aim to introduce of this course is to create awareness among the students regarding Tourism & Travel Management and also make them capable to industry oriented. The department also provides placement assistance for final year of students. After completion of the Graduation programme students can pursue Master degree as well as Ph.D course in Tourism and Travel Management in West Bengal & outside the state also.

Eligibility

A candidate who has passed Higher Secondary or 10+2 from WBCHSE/ CBSE/ISC examination from any stream (Arts/ Commerce/ Science) with a minimum percentage of 45% can apply for admission in this course.

Course Pattern

The undergraduate course includes both theoretical and practical elements. The course consists of eight semesters. During the course each student shall be required to undertake a practical training with the help of Dept. of Tourism Govt. of West Bengal.

B.A. / B.Sc. (Honours with core vocational) in Tourism & Travel Management (VTTM) programme:

1. Main subject Tourism & Travel Management
2. Two Minor subject i.e. History & Sociology for B.A in Tourism & Travel Management
3. Two Minor subject i.e. Geography & Food Nutrition for B.Sc in Tourism & Travel Management
4. IDC Paper according to availability of the subject.
5. One compulsory language paper Bengali/ English/Hindi
6. One compulsory paper of Environmental Studies
