Departmental Profile
From long time back, the subject Economics was taught in Maharani Kasiswari College as a ‘Pass subject for Honours courses’ or as one of the three subjects chosen by pure General stream girls, in Graduate level. Since 1978, the department offered teaching of the subject at Higher Secondary level also. Honours course in Economics started in the year 1996. Presently Economics is taught as a combination General or Generic Elective subject of different B.A. / B. Sc. Honours and General courses. For under-graduate course it has passed through (2 + 1) system, (1+1+1) system and now, from the academic session 2018 – 19, it has undertaken the semesterised Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), along with all other B.A. / B. Sc./ B. Com subjects taught in the college
