Infrastructure & Learning Resources

The college has made significant infrastructural improvements to enhance facilities. It ensures inclusivity with ramps and railings for physically challenged students and provides a safe environment with CCTV cameras at key positions for female students. Additionally, the college offers adequate toilets, two common rooms, and 39 classrooms to accommodate all 17 departments. The library houses 30,007 books and provides access to over 6,200 e-journals, ensuring a comprehensive academic environment for all students.

In terms of technology, the college is equipped with 12 Wi-Fi/LAN-enabled classrooms, a smart seminar room with ICT facilities, and a makeshift seminar room. It also has 61 computers for teaching and desktops in the college library. ICT provisions are further supported by a portable projector and subscriptions to Zoom (pro-version), G-Suite, and the N-List library service. The college utilizes Moodle for its cloud-based Learning Management System and manages the VIDWAN portal to provide academic identities for its faculty members.

Courses Offered

The college offers three undergraduate programs leading to degrees in B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com., with options for both 4-year Honors (with or without research) and 3-year Multi-Disciplinary Courses (MDC). The B.A. 4-year Honors program includes majors in Bengali, Education, English, Food & Nutrition, Geography, History, Library and Information Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sanskrit, Sociology, and Tourism & Travel Management. For the B.Sc. 4-year Honors, students can choose from Computer Science, Food & Nutrition, Geography, Library and Information Studies, Psychology, and Tourism & Travel Management. The B.Com. 4-year Honors focuses on Accounting & Finance. Additionally, the college offers 3-year Multi-Disciplinary Courses in B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com., providing students with a flexible curriculum across these disciplines.
